The reality is that selling a home can be stressful. Cleaning, minor or major repairs, inspections: all of these things keep us busy. But we cannot overlook one simple component—decluttering and simplifying the look of the home makes it more attractive to buyers.
I have written in this space before about the importance of a good Realtor. These trusted advisors can help stage the home to look simple, complement the strengths of the home, and appeal to buyers and other agents who will be touring your home. Simple things like removing excess furniture, cleaning off counter tops and adding a few decorative pieces can help the home look more like a model home.
Buyers like to see a place that they can live in, and staging the home the right way not only helps it appeal to them both inside and out, but can also help insure that you get the purchase price you prefer. A day or two of simple staging with your Realtor and maybe a few dollars spent can pay dividends in the selling price of your home, as well as how quickly it sells.
